Sierra Stone Care & Maintenance Instructions
Thank you for purchasing Sierra Stone, and congratulations on your beautiful new surface!
Whether you’ve covered your driveway, pool deck, basement, garage, showroom, or something
completely different, the following instructions will help you keep your new Sierra Stone
surface in pristine condition for many years to come.
Care & Maintenance: Exterior Applications
General Cleaning Methods
- Rinse with garden hose
- Scrub with broom or car wash-brush
- Wash with high-pressure washer (3000 PSI max)
Stain Removal
- Gasoline, oil, grease, etc.: Spray stain with WD-40 or equivalent degreaser, wait
5-10 minutes, spray stain again and scrub with firm-bristled brush as required.
Absorb as much contaminant and cleaner as possible with rag or cloth, then
dispose. Rinse with water; repeat as necessary.

DO NOT scrub with metal brush.
- Chewing gum, tree sap, etc.: Remove surface contaminant using scraping blade or
utility knife. Rinse affected area using a high-pressure washer with a 0” nozzle. If
a 0” nozzle is not available, follow the instructions for removing “sticky stains”
from interior installations, and use a high-pressure washer to rinse. Repeat as
necessary.
Maintenance
- Call your nearest Sierra Stone dealer for a recoat of epoxy every 2-3 years. Any
cracking that may have occurred should be repair at the time of recoating as well.
- For winter conditions, use ice melter that will not harm concrete or vegetation.
Care & Maintenance: Interior Applications
Daily Cleaning Methods
- Wash with water and damp mop. Use non-filming cleaning solutions if possible.
- Vacuum
Semi-Annual/Annual Cleaning Methods
- If Sierra Stone has been applied over concrete, flood area with water and cleaning
solution. Scrub areas of excessive dirt with a firm-bristled brush, then extract dirty
water with a wet vacuum.
- Call a carpet-cleaning service.
- Rent or Buy an industrial cleaning unit.

Unit must be able to: spray water and
cleaning solution into stone under pressure, and extract dirty water.
Stain Removal
- Surface stains: Wash with soapy water & mop or sponge.
- Embedded stains: Rent or buy a hand-held carpet and upholstery cleaner.
Thoroughly spray the stain with water & cleaning solution, scrub if necessary,
extract stained water.
- Sticky stains (ex: chewing gum): Spray stain with Goof Off® Heavy Duty Spot
Remover, wait 5-10 minutes, remove stain using hand-help carpet and upholstery
cleaner.
Maintenance:
- Call your nearest Sierra Stone dealer for a recoat of epoxy every 4-5 years.
